ORCA

Also know as the killer whale, but they actually belong to the dolphin family. According to indigenous legends of British Colombia, the orcas are the souls of the humans lost at sea. Orcas have the third largest brains in the animal kingdom, resulting in one of the highest intelligence of all living things. They have very complex hunting, social and oral behaviour, which they pass on to their kin - hence each orca pod has slightly different customs and habits. Orcas are top predators, but contrary to their false name, there have been no cases of fatal attacks on humans in the wild ever recorded! However, numerous attacks have happened with captive orcas, in aquariums, here they obviously do not belong. Because their habitats are so widespread in all the oceans, their rate of extinction can only be guessed. Seeing them mostly in aquariums is certainly not a good sign, in any case.
